HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT CINEMATOGRAPHER
Charles is a Bristol-based cinematographer and documentary filmmaker who specialises in rugged, remote and high-pressure environments. Before filmmaking he served as a British Army sniper, an experience that shaped his ability to stay calm, read a situation quickly and operate with precision in extreme conditions.
He began his career by building the Army’s first in-house video unit, developing a filmmaking approach rooted in authenticity, situational awareness and a deep respect for the people and landscapes he works in. Charles specialises in telling impactful human stories, whether they unfold in sensitive contexts, high threat locations or challenging parts of the world. He enjoys working with a wide range of contributors, from professional athletes to ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
Today he shoots adventure documentary, branded expeditions and narrative projects that demand resilience, adaptability and a steady presence when the weather or the story turns wild.
Available for projects across the UK and worldwide.
